About the position

The Solar Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing regular maintenance on solar resource assessment stations. This role involves ensuring the functionality and cleanliness of solar panels and related equipment, documenting maintenance activities, and communicating effectively with the Solar Support Team. The technician plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of Harness Energy to provide reliable data for carbon net-zero energy production.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled bi-weekly site visits as directed by the Harness's Solar Support Team.
  • Provide 48-hour notice to reschedule site visits in case of emergencies.
  • Send site 'Arrival' confirmation to the Solar Support Team via text message upon arrival at the site.
  • Clean select solar panels according to Harness training and specifications.
  • Level and clean pyranometers as per Harness Energy training and specifications.
  • Photograph the site and equipment as outlined in the site form instructions.
  • Document and photograph any site damage, theft, or risks, including stolen or missing equipment and environmental factors.
  • Address basic maintenance needs at the site, such as clearing grass/weeds.

Requirements

  • Experience in solar maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with the Solar Support Team.
  • Basic understanding of solar technology and equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in solar technology or maintenance.
  • Experience with data documentation and reporting.
