The Solar Project Assistant role at Johnson Solar involves providing exceptional customer service and operational support within a fast-paced environment. The position is part-time, temporary, and contract-based, focusing on assisting with solar project management and ensuring efficient communication between clients, salespeople, and city offices. The role requires a proactive individual who can multitask effectively and is willing to learn and adapt to the company's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous service to all customers.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all activities and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Complete daily tasks to maintain project timelines.
  • Efficiently manage data entry and CRM usage to stay organized and avoid missing important details and deadlines.
  • Communicate professionally with salespeople, clients, and various city offices.
  • Provide sound engineering and construction management feedback and solve problems as they arise.
  • Negotiate with customers for possible change orders.
  • Prepare bills of material and other information for purchasing.
  • Demonstrate hands-on knowledge of installation and operation of electrical systems, solar, PVC conduit, network systems, permits, utility interconnection, and project funding.
  • Understand information technology industry trends and relate them to company objectives.
  • Read blueprints and plans, and understand electrical symbology.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Experience in solar-related office support or operations is necessary.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in using computers and MS Office is required.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using and managing CRM databases.
  • Working knowledge of Gsuite applications.
  • Positive team player attitude.
