About the position

Solar Optimum, recognized as Panasonic's National Installer of the Year for four consecutive years, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Solar Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possesses a strong background in project coordination within the solar industry. The Solar Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing solar projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Solar Project Coordinator will be responsible for interacting with customers and utility companies at a professional level, ensuring that all communications are clear and effective. The coordinator will review and check solar plans in collaboration with designers and customers, ensuring that all layouts received are accurate and meet production standards. This includes verifying panel layouts, EPBB, and shading reports. The coordinator will also be tasked with coordinating both long and short-term plans, setting targets for milestones, and adhering to strict deadlines to ensure project success. Quality control is a key aspect of this position, and the Solar Project Coordinator will assist with quality checks throughout the project development process to maintain high standards. Upon completion of each assigned job, the coordinator will provide comprehensive documentation and reports, ensuring that all project details are thoroughly recorded and communicated. This position requires a proactive individual who is motivated, responsible, and accountable, with a strong commitment to punctuality and excellence in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers and utility companies at a professional level
  • Review and check the solar plans with the designers and customers
  • Review layouts received from designers to ensure production, panel layout, EPBB and shading report are accurate
  • Coordinate long and short term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Assist with quality control checks on the project throughout the development to maintain standards
  • Provide complete and thorough documentation and reports upon completion of each assigned job

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in solar field operations
  • Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards to check the plans
  • Knowledge of utilities requirements for meter spot in CA
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • High proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project and/or other PM software
  • Familiar with Salesforce and Dropbox
  • Motivated, responsible, accountable, and punctual
