About the position

The Solar Project Finance Director position at the Green Recruitment Company is a pivotal role that involves leading the execution of project financing strategies for an Independent Power Producer (IPP). This position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in solar and storage project finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet the necessary requirements for debt and tax equity transactions. This role demands a proven track record in deal closing, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to interface effectively with both external and internal stakeholders. In this role, the Director will lead negotiations related to documentation, due diligence, and the structuring of debt and tax equity transactions. The individual will manage external relationships that contribute to project diligence as part of the financing process. Additionally, the Director will be tasked with maintaining and expanding existing debt and tax equity financing arrangements while also exploring new investment opportunities. Preparing presentations for management and the board will be a key responsibility, as will reviewing and designing financial models to support project financing decisions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of experience in the solar and/or storage sectors, with a successful track record of managing complex project finance, tax equity, and M&A transactions from inception to completion. A strong understanding of financial models and the ability to perform sensitivity analyses, particularly in relation to tax equity partnerships and debt transactions, is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to present information effectively to a variety of stakeholders, are critical for success in this role.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of solar and/or storage experience

  • Understanding and ability to work with financial models and perform sensitivity analyses, particularly regarding features specific to tax equity partnership and debt transactions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills to a variety of external partners and internal parties
