About the position

The Solar PV Civil Site Manager is responsible for overseeing field operations and installation of solar photovoltaic projects. This role ensures that equipment is installed safely, accurately, and within the estimated timeline. The position involves managing contractor activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and executing quality surveillance and reporting. It is a full-time, onsite position that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as technical expertise in civil and structural engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Solar PV project field operations and installation activities.
  • Interface between contractors/subcontractors and clients.
  • Review and create project-specific site work plans.
  • Prepare and review various reports including construction and quality surveillance reports.
  • Review and create quality surveillance plans and calibration records.
  • Generate non-conformance reports and troubleshoot construction issues.
  • Manage and observe all on-site civil and structural construction activities for compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Support the review of contractor's quality program and participate in field inspections.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Track contractor progress and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate with subcontractors regarding construction timelines and requirements.
  • Lead contractor performance review meetings and resolve coordination conflicts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Civil/Structural Construction Management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in civil and structural construction, preferably in the Energy and Solar sector.
  • Extensive experience in construction oversight of commercial or industrial Solar PV projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with greenfield/brownfield projects in the solar sector.
  • Familiarity with OSHA compliance and safety standards.
