About the position

The Solar Risk Analyst is responsible for utilizing financial and risk management techniques to analyze and monitor market risks within the company. This role involves preparing daily risk management reports, ensuring compliance with risk management policies, and collaborating with various teams to maintain the integrity of risk measurements and valuations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the company's market risks are identified, measured, and monitored.
  • Creates timely daily reports of MTM P&L and positions, analyzing changes between periods for gas and power.
  • Monitors compliance with Risk Management Policies and Procedures and assists in annual reviews.
  • Monitors daily broker balances and responds to margin calls promptly.
  • Recalls cash collateral from brokers and counterparties as requested.
  • Participates in developing procedures to ensure quality and integrity of risk measurements and model valuations.
  • Substantiates the accuracy of valuations and risk measurement calculations.
  • Validates transaction confirmations against details input into ETRM and resolves discrepancies.
  • Participates in special projects to improve risk management reporting and processes.
  • Monitors the contract approval process and ensures proper execution and storage of documents.
  • Supports the Supply team by maintaining the ETRM application and facilitating communication with counterparties.
  • Implements industry best practices.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting and analyses as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Awareness of industry standards and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with urgency.
  • Good communication skills for interaction with business partners and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance tasks for multiple business partners.
