About the position

The Solar Sales Consultant at Green Rack Contracting is responsible for guiding residential clients through the solar evaluation and decision-making process. This role involves managing leads from initial inquiry to contract signing, ensuring a smooth and transparent experience for clients. The consultant will also generate new leads through referrals and stay informed about solar industry trends to provide expert consultations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively conveying the benefits of solar energy and closing deals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on leads developed through marketing and business development departments.
  • Generate new leads independently through referrals.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation through contract signing.
  • Track and organize client interactions and data within the CRM system.
  • Provide clear information on equipment, installation process, billing mechanisms, and general market conditions to prospective clients.
  • Recommend solar energy products, systems, and financing options tailored to customer energy needs, site conditions, preferences, and budget.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service as a primary point of contact for customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Knowledgeable about solar technology and/or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Ability to clearly explain the financial, technical, and environmental benefits of solar systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in consulting, sales, or solar energy (2+ years preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and metrics.
  • Self-starter who can work independently after training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in solar energy sales or consulting.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.
