About the position

As a Solar Sales Consultant at Green Rack Solar, you will play a crucial role in helping homeowners transition to solar energy by guiding them through the evaluation and decision-making process. Your primary responsibility will be to sell solar solutions while managing leads from initial inquiry to contract signing. This position requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a proactive approach to generating new business through community engagement and referrals. You will also stay informed about industry trends and provide expert consultations to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue leads developed through marketing and business development departments.
  • Generate new leads independently through referrals and community engagement.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation through contract signing.
  • Track and organize client interactions and data within the CRM system.
  • Provide clear information on equipment, installation process, billing mechanisms, and general market conditions to prospective clients.
  • Recommend solar energy products, systems, and financing options tailored to customer energy needs, site conditions, preferences, and budget.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service as a primary point of contact for customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Knowledgeable about solar technology and/or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in consulting, sales, customer service, or solar energy (2+ years preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build relationships with strangers and persevere through adversity.
  • Self-starter who can work independently after training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in energy sales or customer service.
  • Familiarity with solar energy products and systems.
