About the position

The Solar Sales Consultant at Lumina Solar is responsible for educating customers about the benefits of solar energy, conducting consultations, and generating leads. This role emphasizes customer service and relationship building while managing the sales process from initial contact through installation. The consultant will utilize company-provided leads and self-sourced opportunities to meet sales targets and contribute to the company's mission of promoting sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multiple virtual or in-home solar consultations through company-provided leads
  • Generate additional leads and revenue through social media, canvassing, word of mouth, referrals and other networking mediums
  • Maintain, nurture and follow up on pipeline opportunities using our CRM
  • Ensure accuracy of data for your pipeline, projects and customers within our CRM
  • Conduct accurate in-home needs assessments and corresponding analyses using state of the art design software
  • Explain the technical aspects of solar systems, including installation processes, financing options, and potential savings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction, res and referrals
  • Deliver outstanding presentations that create a sense of urgency to buy now
  • Manage your customers project from sale through install by keeping them abreast of where their project stands by providing updates as project milestones are surpassed
  • Get customer approval on final design and execute any required change orders with customer
  • Resolve concerns and overcome challenges
  • Communicate and share best practices with other team members
  • Participate in ongoing training, development, and certifications
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to accomplish mutual objectives
  • Attend community events, trade shows, and networking events to promote solar products and services
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of local and regional competition; understand market pricing, utility rates, grant and incentive programs, as well as the current mix of products and services
  • Attend ongoing training and development activities to improve industry and product knowledge while developing new skills
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas set by the sales manager
  • Attend company sponsored events and outings to bolster relationships with colleagues
  • Attend Sales Meetings

Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry
  • Prior in-home sales experience (highly preferred)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivation with a strong drive to achieve sales targets and goals
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
