Longroad Energy is a Boston, MA headquartered renewable energy developer focused on the development, ownership, and operation/asset management of wind and solar energy projects throughout North America. The Associate/Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Origination and Development Operations team at a fast-paced, rapidly growing renewable energy company. This person will be required to come into the Boston office at least 3 times a week. The role involves supporting the origination of long-term structured renewable energy transactions, leading the preparation of written proposals in response to Requests for Proposal (RFP) for renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPA's), and developing customer and marketing plans for various segments such as corporate offtakers and utilities. Additionally, the Associate/Analyst will create and maintain marketing materials for presentations to customers and partners, manage databases to track RFP and proposal status, and support the company's strategic plan through management and reporting of Longroad's development activities, renewable energy pipeline, and project schedules. The position also requires performing market research to identify opportunities and risks, preparing analysis and materials for management presentations, and assisting in the creation and execution of wind, solar, and energy storage development plans. Participation at industry conferences, meetings, and site visits is also expected, along with support for M&A activities such as opportunity screening and due diligence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the origination of long-term structured renewable energy transactions.
  • Lead the preparation of written proposals in response to Requests for Proposal (RFP) for renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPA's).
  • Develop customer and marketing plans for various segments (e.g. corporate offtakers, utilities, etc.).
  • Create and maintain marketing materials for presentation to customers, partners, etc.
  • Manage database(s) to track RFP and proposal status, and other marketing activities.
  • Support the Company's strategic plan through management and reporting of Longroad's development activities, renewable energy pipeline, status and schedule of projects, etc.
  • Perform market research to identify market opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare analysis and materials for management presentations, Investment Committee, and Longroad's Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of wind, solar, and energy storage development plans.
  • Participate at industry conferences, meetings and site visits.
  • Support M&A activities (e.g. opportunity screening, due diligence, internal approvals).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience, ideally in the energy industry or corporate development, management consulting, banking, or other relevant position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive, collaborative manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including familiarity with proposal and presentation preparation.
  • Must be able to uphold highest standards of discretion and confidentiality and exercise good judgment on day-to-day decisions.
  • Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field is a plus.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience; renewable energy experience is preferred (but not required).
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities, with a deep understanding of Microsoft Excel.
