About the position

The Manufacturing Technician B position at Radiant Company involves providing essential support to the production line, focusing on the assembly, alignment, rework, and testing of optical and laser systems. This role is specifically for a weekend shift, requiring candidates to work Friday through Sunday for 12-hour shifts. The technician will follow detailed work instructions and safety protocols to ensure that all products meet operational and cosmetic standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow and comply with work instructions, safety rules, and operating procedures.
• Assemble, align, rework, and test systems and components for optics and laser assemblies.
• Work with RTV, epoxy, and other adhesives to complete fine assemblies.
• Make fine adjustments while monitoring computer outputs of unit results.
• Operate complex active alignment stations and tooling.
• Use and interpret oscilloscopes and other measurement devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and test equipment as required.
• Demonstrate comprehension of engineering prints and schematics.
• Report deviations from standards to appropriate resources for review and authorization.
• Support Lean manufacturing efforts through continuous process improvement.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety procedures.
• Apply math skills to perform calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary education with 0-2 years of related experience.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to operate 25%-50% of workstations as documented by training records.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior soldering experience.
• Experience using a microscope.
