About the position
As a Civil Engineer / Assistant Project Manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will engage in civil and environmental engineering projects focused on solid waste facilities. Your role will involve engineering tasks such as calculations for airspace, excavation, and fill volumes, as well as the design of stormwater management systems and landfill gas collection systems. You will also participate in fieldwork related to Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) and environmental monitoring, collaborating with office and field staff, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Complete engineering tasks related to solid waste facilities, including airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations.
- Prepare, review, and compile technical reports.
- Design stormwater management systems and landfill grading.
- Design leachate and landfill gas collection systems.
- Assist with fieldwork, including Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) and environmental monitoring of landfill facilities.
- Interact with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors to facilitate project completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
- E.I.T. or FE certification; Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and HEC-RAS or other computer modeling software.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and ability to take direction.
