About the position

As a SolidWorks Design Engineer at National Integrated Systems (NIS), you will be integral to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions. This role involves creating detailed 3D models, conducting simulations, and producing technical drawings to meet high standards of quality and performance. You will collaborate closely with team members and customers to ensure that designs meet project requirements and are feasible for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical assemblies and components using SolidWorks CAD system.
  • Develop designs from concept to manufacturing including models and prints.
  • Integrate 'off the shelf' industry hardware into mechanical systems.
  • Check components and assembly drawings for completeness and accuracy.
  • Design for reliability, manufacturing, and assembly to fit customer needs.
  • Collaborate with team members and customers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to design and develop 3D models and assemblies for various components/systems.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of recent SolidWorks design experience.
  • Experience in Assembly design, Parametric design, Detail Drawings, and the Weldment function.
  • Experience in Microsoft Software.
  • Proven experience in utilizing SolidWorks for design and engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
