About the position

The SolidWorks Drafter at Globe Tech Professionals LLC is responsible for designing and drafting products using SolidWorks software, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. This role involves creating and maintaining bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and documentation, while supporting the organization's manufacturing and engineering processes. The position requires collaboration with management to foster a positive work environment and assist in Lean initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all SolidWorks functionality and applications.
• Assist management in creating a cooperative and productive work environment.
• Develop and maintain accurate bills of material and engineering change orders.
• Create and organize SolidWorks databases, prints, and models, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Support Lean initiatives within the organization.
• Create cutplan programs for laser cutting tables.
• Design and develop required fixturing for projects.
• Maintain documentation and setup information for repeat runs.
• Support sales in producing accurate quotes for customers.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of engineering department processes and software.

Requirements

• Very strong understanding of SolidWorks software (a must).
• Knowledge of configuration software functionality (a plus).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes, including welding, laser cutting, and press brake.
• Blueprint reading capabilities required.
• Knowledge of BOM structures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing demands and adapt to changes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AutoCAD (Preferred).
• Experience in fabrication processes (Preferred).
