About the position

The Solidworks Drafter position at Argon Industries involves developing moderately difficult to difficult working solid model drawings based on customer drawings, specifications, engineering notes, and sketches. The role requires ensuring that all drawings meet the standards and requirements set by the customer, the company, and the industry. The drafter will utilize a Solidworks CAD workstation, specifically focusing on sheet metal functions, to prepare engineering drawings that include standard arrangements, layouts, assemblies, and isometrics. This work is performed from rough sketches and general engineering and design information, adhering to established standards and procedures. In this position, the drafter will collaborate closely with other designers, engineers, and production personnel to ensure a coordinated design process. The application of standard drafting and design principles is essential to complete assignments effectively. The drafter will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with customer requirements, design safety factors, tolerances, and applicable standards and codes such as ANSI, AWS, and ASME. This includes compiling data and performing dimensional and routine calculations necessary for the preparation of drawings. The role requires the ability to read and understand both orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) designs, as well as supplier and manufacturer drawings.
