About the position

The Solution Architect Big Data is a strategic professional responsible for executing the architectural vision for IT systems through complex architecture projects. This role requires staying updated on technology developments, providing technical leadership, and translating complex business problems into effective technical solutions. The position significantly impacts the architecture function and overall business performance, requiring strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Executes the architectural vision for all IT systems through major, complex IT architecture projects.
  • Ensures that architecture conforms to enterprise blueprints.
  • Develops technology road maps and recommends business directions based on emerging technologies.
  • Provides technical leadership and develops components of or the overall systems design.
  • Translates complex business problems into sound technical solutions.
  • Applies hardware engineering and software design theories in researching, designing, and developing product hardware and software interfaces.
  • Provides integrated systems planning and recommends innovative technologies to enhance current systems.
  • Recommends appropriate desktop, computer platform, and communication links to support IT goals and strategy.
  • Acts as an advisor or mentor to junior team members.
  • Influences decisions through advice, counsel, or facilitating services.
  • Assesses risk when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years' experience in Big Data and/or Public Cloud.
  • 8 years' experience working on Big Data technologies: Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark, Impala, etc.
  • Technical expertise in the financial services industry and/or regulatory environments.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in solutioning Cloud native solutions.
  • Experience with migrating on-prem applications to Cloud Architectures or developing cloud native applications for AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift.
  • Ability to work across technology stacks and perform R&D on new technologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages like Java, Python, etc.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to develop working relationships and manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and master new tasks quickly.
  • Methodical with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience on architecting Gen AI based technology solutions is preferred.
