About the position

The Solution Architect Director at Unisys is responsible for leading a global team of architects within the Digital Workplace Services Go-To-Market team. This role involves managing pre-sales activities, providing thought leadership, and ensuring the development of competitive solutions that meet client requirements. The director will oversee a team of 15+ architects, driving employee development and fostering collaboration with sales teams to enhance solution offerings and client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a global team of 15+ architects in the Digital Workplace Services Go-To-Market team.
  • Collaborate with sales teams on solution features, architectural issues, implementation considerations, cost elements, and effort estimates.
  • Drive employee development and pre-sales account base growth.
  • Provide deal oversight to ensure competitive and creative solutions are developed that drive business closure.
  • Act as a change agent to drive functional and behavioral changes in the team to meet next-generation client requirements.
  • Interact with clients, industry leaders, and solution leaders to present solutions and portfolio strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT related major preferred or significant equivalent experience.
  • 10-12 years of relevant work experience in the IT Service industry with substantial pre-sales architecture experience.
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), presentation, collaboration, influencing, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledgeable on industry standards such as TOGAF, ITIL, ISO Standards, Zachman, etc.
  • Broad understanding of Unisys portfolio solutions and ability to present solution and portfolio strategy to clients.
  • Experience in proposal processes including pricing, resource assignment, complex planning, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience developing comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and determining risks associated with solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the benefits of a solution to senior IT executives.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Broad expertise in five or more solution areas such as Service Desk, Field Services, Mobile Device Management, Collaboration, VDI, DaaS, IT Governance, ServiceNow, Service Management, Asset Management, SIAM, Reporting.
  • Experience in project management and developing conceptual, logical, and technical architecture models.
