About the position

The Revenue Advisory Consultant plays a crucial role in this transformation by working closely with enterprise-level clients to deliver effective revenue platforms. This position is part of the Global Services team, which is dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for our customers and partners, ensuring they achieve their business goals using the Zuora platform. The Revenue Advisory Consultant will engage in various activities, including supporting architects in requirements gathering and analysis sessions, conducting fit/gap analyses on business requirements, and providing technical accounting guidance. This role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, as the consultant will regularly interact with clients to address revenue accounting questions and assist in period close reconciliations. Additionally, the consultant will prepare internal training materials and support pre-sales activities related to scoping and drafting proposals. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, with the expectation of working two days a week from our offices in Redwood City, Atlanta, or Frisco. The role also involves travel, as the consultant will work with external customers, requiring up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support the architect(s) in requirements gathering and analysis sessions with clients.
  • Conduct fit/gap analysis on business requirements.
  • Assist customers with regular calls to answer revenue accounting questions.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to architects and advise on appropriate revenue solutions.
  • Assist in period close reconciliations and recommend best practices.
  • Prepare internal technical accounting training materials.
  • Support pre-sales activities related to services on scoping, estimating, and drafting proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field and/or CPA qualification.
  • At least 5 years of enterprise-level experience within a professional services organization as a Revenue Accountant/Senior Revenue Accountant.
  • Experience in ASC 605 & 606 is required.
  • Demonstrated abilities to lead business discussions and make recommendations on best practices.
  • Experience in data conversion activities and period close activities involving ERP and revenue platforms.
  • Experience in the Order to Revenue process in major ERP applications like SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or Workday.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills at the business level.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team to deliver exceptional customer results in a rapid-paced implementation environment.
  • Experience working on multiple customer projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with solution implementation in revenue accounting is a plus.
  • Experience in implementation of Order to Revenue for SaaS customers is a plus.
  • Customer-facing solution delivery and/or business consulting experience is a plus.
