About the position

The position of Pre-Sales Technical Engineer at Logicalis is a critical role that provides technical engineering support to Account Executives and clients throughout the sales process. This role is focused on delivering technical solutions tailored for mid-size and enterprise accounts, ensuring that Logicalis' offerings align with client needs. The engineer will work closely with clients to understand their requirements and demonstrate how Logicalis solutions can effectively address their challenges. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for producing accurate designs and proposals that leverage Logicalis technologies, services, and methodologies. This includes conducting assessments, studies, and surveys to gather necessary data, analyzing this data to provide informed recommendations, and qualifying new business opportunities from a technical perspective. The engineer will design and configure complex solution components, propose implementation details, and prepare for client proof of concepts and product demonstrations. Additionally, the engineer will broaden client engagements by promoting Logicalis' entire portfolio of services, advising the service delivery team to ensure successful implementation, and helping clients understand the benefits of the solutions provided. The role also involves interfacing with vendor and manufacturer teams, providing training for sales teams and clients, mentoring team members, and participating in complex client projects. Keeping abreast of the latest solutions and services offered by Logicalis is essential, as is establishing strong relationships with clients through effective communication and trust-building. The engineer will also participate in regional and national events, demonstrating a commitment to the mission and values of Logicalis while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires a strong focus on customer service and ethical behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Produces accurate designs and proposals for clients using Logicalis technologies, services, and methodologies.
  • Conducts assessments, studies, and/or surveys to obtain data; analyzes data to advise and recommend solutions.
  • Qualifies, from a technical perspective, new business opportunities or requirements within existing and prospective clients to ensure alignment with target markets, portfolio, and delivery and lifecycle services capabilities.
  • Designs and configures complex solution components.
  • Proposes elements, configurations, and implementation details of solutions.
  • Prepares for and conducts client proof of concepts.
  • Prepares and performs product demonstrations.
  • Broadens engagements with clients by promoting, defining, and positioning Logicalis services from the entire portfolio as appropriate to client requirements.
  • Advises service delivery team to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Helps clients understand solution benefits.
  • Interfaces with vendor and manufacturer teams.
  • Provides product and/or solution training for Logicalis Sales teams and clients.
  • Mentors Logicalis team members.
  • Participates in increasingly complex client projects.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest solutions and services Logicalis offers.
  • Establishes relationships with clients by demonstrating strong listening skills.
  • Builds credibility and trust by delivering what has been promised within established timeframes.
  • Participates in regional and national events and regional team meetings.
  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behaviors.
  • Supports and conducts self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, management disciplines, or related field.
  • 4 years' experience in a technical pre-sales role.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards such as CMMC, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and NIST.
  • Experience in Security solutions from leading manufacturers (IBM, Cisco, Palo Alto, Gemalto, etc.).
  • Experience developing enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Experience combining products and services into technology solutions that meet client's business needs.
  • Experience in business case development.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Information security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), CCIE - Security, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) - Security, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Security.
