About the position

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing technology solutions that align with business project contexts and strategic goals. This role involves both macro and micro-level architecture design and implementation, focusing on integrations, web portals, APIs, and business technology platforms. The Solution Architect will manage application architecture solutions for core and business applications, ensuring the viability of existing technologies while promoting standard development processes. Collaboration with internal and external partners is essential to align with the Enterprise Architecture framework.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and govern on-premises and cloud application architectures supporting the technology application portfolio and infrastructure.
  • Enforce enterprise standards and policies in accordance with Enterprise Architecture and system development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • Facilitate the discovery of critical business issues and requirements for internal and external customers.
  • Oversee the optimization and evaluation of current and future applications, creating and maintaining application roadmaps.
  • Drive innovation in cloud technology, ensuring readiness and integration into IT investments.
  • Provide technology leadership through mentoring, pair programming, and training, especially related to cloud technology adoption within application development.
  • Collaborate with IT leaders to develop business cases for migrating from legacy solutions to modern approaches.
  • Conduct research on new technology concepts and implementations, recommending strategies that drive business value.
  • Offer advanced architecture and engineering support for automating and managing application systems across enterprise information systems.
  • Plan and execute roadmaps and technology enhancements, creating and maintaining related standards and documentation.
  • Assess existing applications and architecture, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop implementation plans for management directives that prioritize security and minimize disruption.
  • Assist IT departments with the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of technologies, providing guidance and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in information technology, with at least five (5) years focused on cloud solutions.
  • Familiarity with front-end development best practices, including mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, .NET framework, and various software tools.
  • Experience with financial trading/management platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg Terminal, or Thomson Reuters Eikon.
  • Strong customer service orientation and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with colleagues, customers, and third-party vendors.
  • Capacity to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical skills to apply logical thinking to diverse intellectual and practical problems.
  • Decision-making capabilities regarding technology strategies, considering various options and business needs.
  • Advanced mathematical skills and the ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical tasks.
