About the position

The Solution Engineer is a customer-focused technical sales professional responsible for providing in-depth technical information and design guidance to Red River's customers. This role involves mentoring others, offering architectural guidance across the Red River product portfolio, and engaging in pre-sales engineering activities to identify customer needs and propose technology solutions. The SE collaborates with Account Executives and Design Architects to create optimal technical solutions that align with customer business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology and product recommendations for sales opportunities.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact and technical sales lead for customers.
  • Provide initial input for proposals and statements of work.
  • Validate that completed proposals align with customer desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills while working with customers and team members.
  • Utilize presales engineering skills and knowledge in at least one specialization such as Data Center, Collaboration, Security, Microsoft Modern Workplace, Cloud, or Route/Switch/Wireless.
  • Understand Red River's offerings and solution strengths.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of work experience
  • 5 - 7 years of presales engineering experience
  • Active and verified professional level OEM certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, Cisco Certified Devnet Associate)
  • U.S. citizenship required for Federal positions, with the ability to qualify for a Top Secret Clearance.
