About the position

As a Solution Engineer III at Haworth, you will play a pivotal role in utilizing your technology management knowledge to address complex business requirements through analysis, design, development, and testing techniques. This position requires you to work independently within established solution architecture to design and build new applications using Haworth's defined technology stack, adhering to established standards. You will be responsible for monitoring the standard application lifecycles and solution delivery methodologies, ensuring the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of high-performing, high-quality software solutions that align with business needs. Continuous improvement input will be a key aspect of your role, as you will participate in various work execution patterns, including Agile, Waterfall, and Wagile, to support consistent delivery and support activities. In addition to development tasks, you will provide production support for Haworth's B2C web applications and interfaces. This includes monitoring the Haworth Change Management process to ensure that all production changes are clearly documented and communicated. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the software solutions not only meet the current business requirements but also adapt to future needs, thereby contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technology management knowledge to apply analysis, design, development, and testing techniques to complex business requirements.
  • Independently design and build new applications within Haworth's defined technology stack, using established standards.
  • Monitor standard Haworth application lifecycles and solution delivery methodologies to design, develop, test, implement, and support high-performing software solutions.
  • Participate in work execution patterns including Agile, Waterfall, and Wagile to support consistent delivery or support activities.
  • Provide production support for Haworth's B2C web applications and interfaces.
  • Monitor the Haworth Change Management process to ensure all production changes are documented and communicated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Technology Management, or a closely related field, or foreign equivalent and 5 years of progressively responsible business application development experience including DevOps and .NET technologies in a Senior Software Developer, Project Lead, or similar position.
  • OR a Master's degree in the same fields with 2 years of progressively responsible business application development experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship from Haworth, now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel overnight away from corporate offices, at times with very short notice, including internationally, up to 10% of time.
  • Experience with all phases of the delivery lifecycle (Requirements Gathering & Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Launch, and Post-Launch support).
  • Experience with current development standards, techniques, and tools to maintain and enhance existing applications and systems.
  • Experience with analyzing and debugging existing applications and enhancing/fixing them in a timely fashion.
  • Experience with design, development, implementation, installation, testing, and troubleshooting application software.
  • Experience with determining root causes of software/application problems and implementing appropriate resolutions.
  • Experience with developing technical documentation for training, software/hardware use, user procedures, and project deliverables.
  • Experience with developing and delivering presentations.
  • Experience with assessing and maintaining quality of programming structure, design, and coding.
  • Experience with analyzing requirements and reformatting them into manageable and testable lists.

Nice-to-haves

  • Haworth Experience strongly preferred.
