About the position

The Solution Engineer position at Cisco focuses on providing technical support for pre-sales activities in the optical networking domain. Responsibilities

  • Support the sales organization by managing all technical aspects of pre-sales activities.
  • Present and demonstrate solutions to customers and internal audiences.
  • Craft solutions tailored to the specific needs of influential companies.
  • Coordinate and prioritize detailed data for customer review.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of pre-sales experience in a technical role.
  • Strong background in optics and optical networking technologies.
  • Understanding of hyperscale data center environments and large-scale deployments.
  • Proven experience with Cisco optical technologies such as laser systems, photonics, and integrated optics.
  • Ability to translate customer requests into engineering-specific documents.
  • Technical presence to deliver presentations and demonstrations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in automation technologies and tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks.
