About the position

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Solution Engineer Senior in Columbus, OH. The Solution Engineer Senior will be part of a larger team delivering high-quality technology solutions to the business. This role involves designing, developing, and installing software solutions that meet the needs of the organization. The engineer will be responsible for building high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development, and design standards and best practices. In this position, the Solution Engineer Senior will design, modify, develop, write, implement, and troubleshoot software applications. They will also support and/or install software applications and participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software. The engineer will work within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework-based team and will collaborate heavily with Business Units team members and Infrastructure Job Families. The role requires the development of advanced solutions to resolve Business Units issues in a logical, creative, and structured manner. The engineer will align the Business Unit's goals, needs, and objectives to the solutions, communicate issues and status in a clear, timely manner, gather specifications, and build solutions to those specifications. Additionally, they will generate support documentation and evaluate and propose process improvements. The Solution Engineer Senior will also build and maintain a high level of knowledge about the company's software/hardware products and may provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team. This position requires the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 7 years in a development role
  • 3+ years in C#
  • Database experience with SQL Queries, DDL & DML (prefer Oracle database experience)
  • Advanced Excel experience including VBA coding
  • Experience with web-based APIs
  • Experience with ETL
  • Experience with Git
  • Ability to switch between support and development work per priorities
