About the position

The Solution Engineer (SE) plays a crucial role in supporting sales productivity and deal flow by securing the technical close in complex solutions. This position requires collaboration with various teams including sales, service, development, and technical support to ensure that proposed deals encompass technical solutions that accurately meet customer needs. The SE is expected to engage with key technical stakeholders and decision-makers to facilitate this process effectively. The primary responsibility of the Solution Engineering Team is to assist assigned Account Managers and Partners with technical sales activities in both new and existing opportunities. Each SE is expected to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to their responsibilities. Key tasks include understanding and qualifying customer requirements, delivering compelling sales presentations, and presenting detailed technical information about SPHERE products and services. Additionally, the SE will conduct product demonstrations and walkthroughs, manage all phases of Proof of Concepts (POCs) including installations and final technical presentations, and integrate SPHERE solutions into the customer’s environment. The SE will also be responsible for presenting at webinars and seminars, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), and contributing to the technical development of SPHERE Partners. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to articulate the significance of automated data visibility, cleanup, and ongoing management solutions within the realms of Data Governance, Identity and Access, and Privileged Access. Furthermore, the SE must provide industry best practices recommendations in these areas to ensure that customers are well-informed and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Articulating the importance of automated data visibility, cleanup, and ongoing management solutions within Data Governance, Identity and Access, and Privileged Access
  • Providing industry best practices recommendations within the Data Governance, Identity and Access and Privileged Access spaces.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably selling technology to Fortune 500 companies
  • Demonstrated strong written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts with all audiences, ranging from technical engineers to non-technical executive-level decision-makers
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory and related Directory Services
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows and Unix File systems (Share, NTFS/CIFS and NFS Permissions)
  • Experience conducting fast-paced POCs with complex solutions
  • Exposure to Cloud-based collaboration solutions (such as Office365)
  • Exposure to PAM Account Vaulting solutions (such as CyberArk and BeyondTrust)
  • Exposure to IAM platforms (such as SailPoint)
  • Exposure to Microsoft Exchange preferably in a systems administration role
