About the position

The Solution Engineer III (SE III) at Red River is a highly skilled technical sales professional responsible for providing in-depth technical information and design guidance to customers. This role involves mentoring others, offering architectural guidance across Red River's product portfolio, and engaging in pre-sales engineering activities to identify customer needs and propose technology solutions. The SE III collaborates with Account Executives and other technical teams to ensure the best solutions are provided to meet customer business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology and product recommendations for sales opportunities.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact and sales lead for customers.
  • Provide initial input for proposals and statements of work, ensuring alignment with customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills while working with customers and team members.
  • Utilize presales engineering skills and in-depth knowledge in at least one specialization such as Data Center, Collaboration, Security, or Cloud.
  • Understand Red River's offerings and solution strengths.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree desired
  • 10 years of work experience
  • 5 - 7 years of presales engineering experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and qualify to obtain a Secret Clearance for Federal positions
  • Active and verified professional level OEM certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, CCDP)

Nice-to-haves

  • Data center experience (Cisco, Dell, EMC, HPE)
  • Security experience (Zero Trust, etc.)
  • Red Hat experience (RHCE or RHCSA preferred)
