About the position

The Solution Engineer III (SE III) is a highly skilled technical sales professional focused on providing in-depth technical information and design guidance to customers. This role involves mentoring others, offering architectural guidance across Red River's product portfolio, and engaging in pre-sales engineering activities to identify customer needs and propose technology solutions. The SE III collaborates with Account Executives to align technical solutions with customer business outcomes and contributes to internal initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology and product recommendations for sales opportunities.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact and sales lead for customers.
  • Provide initial input for proposals and statements of work.
  • Validate that completed proposals align with customer desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills with customers and team members.
  • Utilize presales engineering skills and knowledge in at least one specialization such as Data Center, Collaboration, Security, or Cloud.
  • Understand Red River's offerings and solution strengths.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree desired.
  • 10 years of work experience.
  • 5-7 years of presales engineering experience.
  • Active and verified professional level OEM certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, CCDP).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and qualify to obtain a Secret Clearance for Federal positions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Data center experience (Cisco, Dell, EMC, HPE).
  • Security experience (Zero Trust, etc.).
  • Red Hat experience (RHCE or RHCSA preferred).
