About the position

SAIC is seeking an experienced Solution/Release Train Engineer to support our United States Air customer. This position is critical in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment, which is essential for accelerating decision-making and increasing mission success. The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of Agile Release Train (ART) processes and will be responsible for delivering sound software releases to the customer. This role will be situated in a fast-paced environment that focuses on delivering improved mission-critical functionality to our Warfighters. In this role, the Solution Train Engineer will gather requirements, plan increments and releases, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. The engineer will manage risks, monitor project performance, resolve impediments, and implement solutions for continuous improvement. Additionally, the engineer will track the execution of features and capabilities, oversee the establishment of baseline configurations for applications, software, and hardware assets, and collect, analyze, and report metrics for trends, indicators, and readiness. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles, processes, and best practices, along with exceptional time management skills. They will be adept at prioritizing tasks and identifying issues that require discussion. The role also demands the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems, which often require ingenuity and creativity. Experience in identifying, organizing, and coordinating software and hardware configuration changes for version management, system build, backup and recovery, archiving, and change management is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
  • Deep understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles, processes, and best practices
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to efficiently prioritize tasks and promptly identify issues requiring discussion
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Experience identifying, organizing, and coordinating software and hardware configuration changes for version management, system build, backup and recovery, archiving, and change management
  • US Citizenship and a DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
