About the position

The Solution Train Engineer at Edward Jones plays a crucial role in coordinating SAFe Program Increment Planning across Agile Release Trains (ARTs). This position focuses on managing the flow of value, enhancing agile practices, and facilitating communication among stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. The role involves leading and mentoring teams, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement in technology solutions that enhance client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate SAFe Program Increment Planning within and across ARTs.
  • Identify and monitor risks and dependencies, communicating status to senior leaders.
  • Execute Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings across digital product portfolios.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train using various tools.
  • Contribute to the advancement of agile practices within the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Facilitate ART/end-to-end System Demos and communication cadences.
  • Provide input on resourcing to address bottlenecks and gaps.
  • Collaborate with Agile Release Trains and stakeholders to influence decision making.
  • Fulfill reporting needs for program, product, or digital leadership.
  • Coordinate and oversee Epic Refinement for several ARTs.
  • Provide a safe space for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Guide and coach RTEs and Product PLs on agile practices.
  • Use data and stakeholder insights to make informed decisions.
  • Support continuous planning for product portfolios.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of Technology experience leading projects, products, and/or programs.
  • Knowledge of Lean-Agile mindset and methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer or in a similar role preferred.
  • Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) highly desired.
  • Experience using Jira, Clarity, Aha!, and other enterprise tools.
  • Excellent people and product management skills.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
