About the position

The Solutions Architect role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on assisting U.S. Department of Defense organizations in implementing innovative cloud computing solutions. This position involves engaging with customers to define implementation architectures, providing technical expertise in AWS technologies, and ensuring the success of specific implementation projects. The role requires a consultative approach to help customers understand application architectures and integration strategies, while also contributing to the growth of AWS's Defense Department business.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures and provide inputs to RFI and RFP responses.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad knowledge of application and service construction using AWS.
• Act as a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to address customer needs in the Defense markets.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications (CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP).

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
• Knowledge of SAP systems and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
• Experience working with end user or developer communities.
