About the position

The Solutions Architect role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on assisting U.S. Department of Defense organizations in implementing innovative cloud computing solutions. This position involves engaging with customers to define implementation architectures, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the success of specific projects. The role requires a deep understanding of AWS technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and success of implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures for cloud solutions.
• Provide inputs to RFI and RFP responses.
• Develop expertise in AWS technologies and application construction.
• Act as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
• Educate and collaborate with technical teams across enterprise architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications (CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP).

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
• Knowledge of SAP systems and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
• Experience working with end user or developer communities.
