About the position
The Solutions Architect role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on helping the U.S. Department of Defense implement innovative cloud computing solutions. This position involves engaging with customers to define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop expertise in AWS technologies. The role requires deep networking knowledge and the ability to provide technical design and support for cloud computing in defense markets, while also capturing and sharing best practices within the AWS community.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects.
- Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
- Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and applications.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on networking and security for customer applications.
- Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
- Educate and train customers on cloud computing architectures for the Defense Department.
Requirements
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
- 6+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
- 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting.
- 3-5 years of experience with Networking, including BGP AS architecture and route manipulation.
