About the position

The Solutions Director (SD) at CGI Federal plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the right personnel are engaged in proposals, comprehending the problems at hand, and delivering effective solutions. This position is responsible for managing proposals from the initial customer requirements through to submission, establishing operational objectives, and delegating tasks to team members. The SD will also be involved in developing and executing company policies that impact immediate operations and may have broader implications across the organization. As a strategic thinker and problem solver, the SD leverages their expertise and CGI Federal's partner network to provide technology recommendations and data strategies that address a variety of business objectives and IT solution needs. A deep understanding of cloud services, technology ecosystems, architectures, and trends is essential. The SD acts as a trusted advisor, providing technical consulting to both CGI Federal business units and customers. This role requires a strong grasp of cloud offerings, analytics, low-code/no-code solutions, and the ability to position CGI Federal's solutions effectively. The SD is tasked with identifying cyber technology trends and industry needs, creating strategies for successful technology deployment across a wide federal client base. Responsibilities include conducting customer briefings, creating high-level solution designs, and establishing relationships to identify and close opportunities. The SD must also incorporate cyber strategies into CGI Federal's intellectual property and develop optimal, repeatable solution architectures that address customer challenges, enabling value-based sales and pricing. Risk identification and mitigation throughout the solution development lifecycle are also critical components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and shepherd proposals from initial customer requirements to submission.
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans, delegating assignments to subordinates.
  • Develop, modify, and execute company policies affecting immediate operations and potentially company-wide.
  • Provide technology recommendations and data strategies to architect solutions for business objectives and IT needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical consulting to CGI Federal business units and customers.
  • Create and present high-level solution designs/architecture to customers.
  • Develop customer-facing presentations to promote CGI solutions and core strengths.
  • Build relationships and partnerships to identify opportunities and enable growth and delivery.
  • Incorporate cyber strategy and solutions for CGI Federal's intellectual property and non-IP solutions development.
  • Create optimal repeatable solution architectures and proposals that uniquely solve customer problems.
  • Identify risks and mitigations at all stages of the solution development lifecycle.
  • Build initial business case models and architecture in support of CGI's objectives.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of successful experience in solutioning and consulting in solutions, enterprise IT, and platform/cloud or professional services.
  • Experience in cloud, software, technology solutioning, analytics, AI/ML, and cyber security.
  • Prior technical product development and/or architecture experience, preferably in a cloud engineering environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of data strategies, information assurance guidance, and federation strategy.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and Microsoft designs and modernizations of legacy applications.
  • Ability to translate solution opportunities into tangible technology deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building business cases and technical use cases to drive technical outcomes validated with ROI modeling.
  • Understanding of contemporary technology concepts such as low/no code, data analytics, cyber, RPA, cloud, high availability infrastructure, and AI/ML.
  • Experience working in Agile development teams and the Product Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of disruptive technology concepts: AI, machine learning, Big Data & Analytics, IoT (Edge).
  • Clearances - Secret or above preferred.
