About the position

The Solutions Architect for Federal Civilian Agencies at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and addressing technical challenges. This role involves engaging with customers to design and create cloud architectures, providing technical leadership, and ensuring the success of implementation projects. The Solutions Architect will work closely with a sales and business development team to establish AWS as a leading technology platform, while also being a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to design and create cloud computing architectures.
• Own the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and application construction using the AWS platform.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.

Requirements

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 4+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, and data & analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
• Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting.
