About the position

The Microsoft Sr. Solutions Architect at CDW is a client-facing, pre-sales technologist responsible for understanding clients' business requirements related to Microsoft Data and AI solutions. This role involves qualifying opportunities, creating designs that align with client needs, and building presales collateral. The architect collaborates with sales teams, presents solutions to clients, and ensures successful delivery while maximizing profit. The position requires deep expertise in Microsoft Data and Analytics Solutions and involves developing trusted relationships with key business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Client Facing Sales Support - Works with sales account team, interfacing directly with CDW clients and building trusted advisor relationships.
  • Develops High Level Designs and Architectures - Creates and documents architectures that address client business problems for smooth transition from presales to delivery.
  • Create Proposals - Develops BOMs, Product Quotes, SOWs, LOUs, business cases, and RFP responses.
  • Sales Planning - Collaborates with management and sales teams to develop account prioritization and support strategies.
  • Partner Relationship Management - Develops healthy and trusted relationships with key partners in the geography.
  • Billable Consulting - Provides services as part of client projects, usually in a project oversight mode.
  • Intellectual Property Development - Contributes to the development of CDW intellectual property and industry recognition.
  • Administrative Overhead - Responds to emails, phone calls, and completes time cards, expense reports, and status reports as required.
  • Training - Develops and executes a professional plan to enhance skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of related work experience in a Digital and/or Data focused solutions role.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical background to business direction by developing service offerings and go-to-market strategies.
  • Proven experience articulating technical viewpoints to diverse audiences, including technical and business decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and personnel management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least four (4) years of experience in pre-sales engineering and/or sales in a Systems Integrator, OEM, or similar environment.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Data, AI, and Cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Data Integration, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Real-time analytics, Data Science, and Business Intelligence.
  • Four (4) years of billable consulting experience.
  • Experience with leading teams in a Client or consulting project environment.
