Solutions Architect - Remote

About the position

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to address business challenges. This role involves leading multiple complex and high-priority projects, collaborating closely with IT architecture, operations, and project management teams to provide technical guidance and improve existing systems and processes. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, enabling them to break down complex problems and deliver effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative solutions to business issues.
• Lead multiple complex and high-priority projects.
• Collaborate with IT architecture, operations, and project management teams.
• Analyze existing systems and processes to identify improvements.
• Provide detailed documentation for implemented solutions and knowledge base articles.
• Evaluate technology solutions and provide input on technology direction.
• Identify areas for automation and application of DevOps principles.
• Work with IT and business partners on cloud-based technologies.
• Ensure solutions are well-engineered, operable, and maintainable.
• Track and document requirements for enterprise development projects.
• Monitor current and future technology trends that affect organizational projects.
• Act as a senior technical resource for organizational projects.
• Work with enterprise architects to develop solutions aligned with organizational needs.
• Allocate assigned labor/budget resources to execute project tasks.
• Provide technical guidance to the business and interact with senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Math, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of solutions architecture experience.
• In-depth technical experience with server infrastructure, particularly Cisco UCS.
• Experience with VMWare in complex environments.
• Familiarity with storage technologies like Netapp and PureStorage.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure preferred).
• Strong cyber security background.
• Experience with automation scripting languages such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as .NET, BASH, Perl, PowerShell, Python.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with proof-of-concepts.
• Familiarity with DevOps orchestration and automation concepts.
• Understanding of ITIL processes.
• Ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.
