About the position

The Solutions Architect for the WWPS Education Technology (EdTech) team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions. This role involves engaging with customers to understand their needs, defining implementation architectures, and providing technical leadership to ensure project success. The Solutions Architect will work closely with sales teams to develop strategies and respond to RFPs, while also sharing best practices and knowledge within the AWS community.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures for customer solutions.
• Respond to RFPs and develop proposals for potential projects.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications are constructed using the AWS platform.
• Review sales pipeline and collaborate on sales strategy with account managers.
• Conduct thought leadership sessions to share knowledge with customers.
• Advance organizational initiatives through collaboration within AWS.

Requirements

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 4+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
• Experience with AWS technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning and/or Data Analytics domains.
