About the position

The Solutions Architect is a senior technical role focused on developing and supporting AI-driven projects within the institution. This position requires collaboration with AI development teams and IT infrastructure groups to deliver robust AI solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives. The role encompasses technical research, project management, educational initiatives, and compliance with architectural standards.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with AI development teams to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
  • Assist in the design and deployment of cloud-based and on-premises systems for AI functionalities.
  • Engage in continuous research to evaluate commercial and open-source tools for AI capabilities.
  • Architect and maintain secure data pipelines for efficient data access and processing.
  • Develop and conduct training programs and documentation for AI tool utilization.
  • Establish and manage Communities of Practice for knowledge sharing among AI users.
  • Serve as a project lead or subject matter expert, overseeing project lifecycles.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Share expert knowledge through presentations and technical documentation.
  • Develop proof-of-concept applications to validate AI solutions.
  • Provide guidance to infrastructure teams to align AI solutions with IT standards.
  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards and perform code reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient understanding of software development life cycles and advanced coding practices, with a strong background in .NET/C#, Python, and SQL.
  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, developing microservices, APIs, and large-language model applications.
  • Advanced knowledge in designing UML diagrams and understanding Generative AI architecture and training processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and project planning abilities.

  • Experience in developing training programs for AI tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance and architectural standards in IT.
