About the position

Tenacious Solutions, LLC is seeking a Solutions Architect to assist a federal client in the DC Metropolitan area. This role involves creating standards, automating processes, documenting new solutions, and establishing data pipelines. The Solutions Architect will translate business requirements into complex IT solutions, provide technical guidance, and support the management of the agency's IT portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Create standards and document new solutions.
  • Use automation when available to streamline processes.
  • Establish and ensure data pipelines are functioning effectively.
  • Oversee and conduct user acceptance testing.
  • Provide initial and refresher training on new capabilities.
  • Translate clients' business requirements into specific systems and applications designs.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on architecture to address client business problems.
  • Analyze and identify existing or new systems requirements for organizations.
  • Establish functional and technical specifications and standards.
  • Solve hardware/software interface problems and define input/output parameters.
  • Participate in technical exchange and governance meetings.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on technology solutions.
  • Support management of overall agency IT portfolio and provide recommendations on Target Architecture.
  • Analyze client's business problems and recommend appropriate technologies and processes.
  • Maintain clients' database with performance analysis tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with 12-15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher required.
  • Full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Hands-on experience developing software solutions using JAVA and/or .NET environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in SQL for database design, querying, and optimization.
  • Experience with SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing, and stored procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and integration.
  • Ability to understand and design technical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of existing systems within federal government departments.
  • Ability to develop project plans and propose project goals and objectives.
  • Experience developing test cases/scenarios and conducting testing modules.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous project management experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated passion for software development and teaching technology.
  • Experience with data-visualization software such as Tableau or MS PowerBI.
