About the position

The Solutions Consultant (Industrial Engineer) role at Bastian Solutions involves leveraging engineering expertise to support sales teams in designing automated material handling systems. This position focuses on software solutions, requiring collaboration with various teams to define project scopes and requirements, ensuring the delivery of optimal solutions for clients. The role also includes customer engagement and support throughout the project lifecycle, from proposal creation to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a solid understanding of Bastian's Exacta software.
• Support consulting and sales teams as the software subject matter expert by defining software scope and requirements and providing design feedback.
• Lead requirements gathering and scope definition efforts with customers during the sales process.
• Create software-specific proposal and presentation content to support overall solution proposals.
• Support sales presentations by explaining the role of Bastian's Exacta software in customer operations.
• Work with the Software Delivery team to communicate requirements and develop cost estimates for solution proposals.
• Provide excellent customer service by maintaining long-term engagement with customers as their business needs evolve.
• Support the Software Operations team by assisting with testing and go-live efforts as needed.
• Assist customer support teams when required.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• 5+ years of industry experience in technical sales.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred) or related technical/supply chain field; MBA desirable.
• Technical mindset with a strong desire to learn and seek answers.
• Positive, problem-solving mentality.
• Confident communication and presentation skills.
• High proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment and automation.
• Experience with warehouse software applications is required.
• Previous experience leading or supporting technical sales is preferred.
• Understanding of networking and IT hardware fundamentals is preferred.
