About the position

The Solutions Design Manager is responsible for designing and developing innovative warehousing and logistics solutions tailored to client needs. This role bridges client requirements with operational feasibility, ensuring solutions meet budgetary, performance, and timeline expectations. Additionally, the manager contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Business Development teams to understand client needs and develop customized logistics solutions.
• Analyze and evaluate client data to design operational and technical solutions that enhance supply chain performance.
• Prepare detailed designs using industry standard cost models and operational blueprints for warehousing and distribution.
• Develop solutions and pricing models for dedicated contract logistics operations and shared site operations.
• Conduct detailed analysis of warehouse layouts, workflows, equipment specifications, and labor planning to optimize efficiency and costs.
• Utilize tools such as AutoCAD and simulation software to create detailed designs and identify improvement areas.
• Parse client data into quantifiable activity flows, process maps, and IT requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of design plans from concept to implementation.
• Provide ongoing support to Project Management teams during the implementation phase.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments to ensure proposed solutions meet financial objectives.
• Document assumptions and variables affecting implementation and operations.
• Participate in client meetings to lead solution presentations and gather feedback.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to refine design methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in a solutions design role within contract logistics or warehousing.
• Proficiency with industry standard Contract Logistics Cost Models.
• Experience in designing and optimizing large-scale warehousing and logistics projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and simulation software.
• Expertise in MOST and/or MTM methodologies.
