About the position

The Solutions Engineer (SE) role at Scale's Autonomous Vehicles and Computer Vision (AVCV) business unit is pivotal in building and nurturing relationships with strategic customers. SEs act as trusted technical account leaders, balancing technical expertise with sales acumen to drive commercial growth and ensure customer satisfaction. This multifaceted position involves collaborating with various teams, conducting technical workshops, and influencing product roadmaps based on industry insights. SEs are essential for both acquiring new customers and expanding existing relationships, often working on high-stakes contracts and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Scale Account Executives and Engagement Managers to deliver net-new customer pilots and grow technical relationships with existing customers
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Product Management to influence the product roadmap based on industry insights
  • Develop technical domain expertise in 2D and 3D imaging, multi-sensor fusion, GPS/INS navigation systems, and computer vision
  • Ensure a positive technical customer experience and drive commercial growth through new use cases
  • Work closely with technical engineers at customer sites to ensure satisfaction with Scale's data and software platforms
  • Design, develop, and maintain playbooks and demos for successful customer pilots and expansions
  • Represent Scale at major industry events and academic conferences.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience developing with Python, C++, Java, or other scripting languages
  • 2+ years of enterprise sales experience, particularly in selling technical solutions
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills and technical credibility when engaging with stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively across various organizational levels
  • Willingness to travel 20-25% of the time, including internationally
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to operate with high autonomy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience in Robotics, AI, or Computer Vision, especially with sensors like Lidars and cameras
  • Previous experience as a technical go-to-market resource
  • Experience achieving sales quotas
  • Experience selling complex technical solutions to enterprises with deal sizes of $500K to $5M+
