About the position

The Solutions Engineer at Saint-Gobain Omniseal Solutions Simulation Group will focus on part design, process improvement, and the selection of manufacturing tools and materials for critical engineered components. This role involves application testing, both simulation and physical, to support new product development and introduction in a laboratory environment. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize sealing solutions and address complex customer challenges, leveraging a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and sealing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative sealing solutions tailored to specific applications, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Conduct design evaluation and optimization, product testing, and validation.
  • Investigate sealing material behavior through material testing and data processing.
  • Investigate sealing components behavior, including scope definition, testing planning, and execution.
  • Construct simulation models, process results, and analyze findings for presentation.
  • Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues during product development.
  • Participate in technical exhibitions and customer meetings to promote products and services.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and well-documented completion.
  • Establish and shift priorities as needed to meet commitments and project deliverables.
  • Promote a safe work environment and identify opportunities for safety improvements.

Requirements

  • BS in Material Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautics Engineering, or related disciplines with 3+ years of experience, or MS with demonstrated technical accomplishments.
  • Hands-on experience with test design and physical testing.
  • Experience with numerical simulations, particularly with FEM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using SolidWorks/CAD.
  • Data analysis knowledge and experience.
  • Understanding of programming and scientific computing.
