About the position

The Solutions Engineer at Saint-Gobain Omniseal Solutions Simulation Group will focus on part design, process improvement, and the understanding of manufacturing tools, processes, and materials selection for critical engineered components. This role involves application testing, both simulation and physical, to support new product development and introduction, while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance and address customer challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative sealing solutions tailored to specific applications, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Develop and perform investigations on sealing material behavior, including material testing and data processing.
  • Conduct investigations on sealing components behavior, including testing planning, execution, and simulation model construction.
  • Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and quality teams to address issues during the product development cycle.
  • Participate in technical exhibitions and meetings with customers to promote products and services.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and well-documented completion to meet business and customer objectives.
  • Establish and shift priorities as needed to meet commitments and project deliverables.
  • Promote a safe work environment and identify opportunities for improving workplace safety.

Requirements

  • BS with 3+ years of experience or MS with demonstrated technical judgment/accomplishments in Material Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautics Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience with test design and physical testing.
  • Experience with numerical simulations, particularly with FEM.
  • 3 years of work experience in a lab/R&D setting.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with testing, materials, and manufacturing processes in an industrial or research setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using SolidWorks/CAD.
  • Data analysis knowledge and experience.
  • Understanding of programming and scientific computing.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
