About the position

The Solutions Engineer for Financial Services at Splunk is a pivotal role focused on providing technical expertise and support to customers in the financial sector. This position involves collaborating with the sales team to develop strategic account plans, demonstrating Splunk's products, and acting as a technical advocate for clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software sales, technical fundamentals, and a passion for technology, enabling them to effectively communicate complex ideas and drive customer success.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the regional sales team to develop strategic and technical account and territory plans.
• Demonstrate Splunk's products and solutions to customers either on-site or remotely, focusing on value-based differentiators.
• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly in emails and reports.
• Organize and analyze sales data to eliminate obstacles using creative approaches.
• Work in a dynamic technical organization with a growing customer base.

Requirements

• 5+ years related experience in selling and supporting software products to IT organizations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to all levels of the business.
• Strong technical fundamentals in IT or Security markets, including networking, systems administration, development, application management, and operations.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as C/C++, Shell, Perl, Python, etc.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies like Map-Reduce, Hadoop, HBase, Cloudera, and Cassandra is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or substantial relevant on-the-job experience.
