About the position

The Solutions Engineer II (SE) at F5 is a technical role within a highly technical sales team, focused on providing pre-sales technical support for the implementation of F5 products and solutions. This position emphasizes customer satisfaction and involves acting as a trusted advisor, delivering technical expertise through presentations, solution designs, and product demonstrations. The SE is responsible for developing account plans and maintaining a high level of technical knowledge about F5's offerings and the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold F5's Business Code of Ethics and report violations promptly.
  • Act as a trusted advisor providing technical expertise through sales presentations, solution designs, and demonstrations.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge of F5 products and the relevant industry.
  • Design solutions that articulate the technical and business value of F5 solutions against competitors.
  • Participate in the development of content for customers and partners.
  • Maintain knowledge of the competitive landscape and share insights with peers.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, sharing best practices and building relationships.
  • Own or assist on Change Request (CR) and Customer Special Request (CSR) cases.
  • Articulate the F5 Sales Strategy and value proposition for customer objectives.
  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer technology staff.
  • Deliver sales pitches at various organizational levels, from CxO to technical staff.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for opportunity management and account planning.
  • Identify and qualify technical opportunities and influence sales strategy.
  • Support GSI and channel partner sales initiatives and provide training on F5 solutions.
  • Partner with F5 Technical Support to resolve post-sales issues.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related industry experience.
  • 4+ years of pre-sales experience.
  • Expert knowledge of F5 solutions and relevant experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Expert presentation skills.
  • Network design background.
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
