About the position

As a Solutions Engineer at Scale, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our rapidly growing customer base has a seamless and successful experience with our innovative technology. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that customers' first interactions with Scale's products are flawless, setting the stage for a long-term partnership. This position is dynamic and will require you to be a technical expert who is excited about solving complex problems. You will be instrumental in shaping our early-stage federal business by re-envisioning our commercial product offerings to meet the unique needs of federal clients. In this role, you will become an expert on the end-to-end functionalities of Scale's products. You will create tailored demonstrations and collateral specifically designed for federal stakeholders, including both executives and analysts. Collaboration will be key, as you will partner with Scale Account Executives to deliver customer pilots that meet the requirements agreed upon with the customer. You will also be responsible for integrating and ingesting a variety of external datasets to address government use cases effectively. Your day-to-day interactions with customers will allow you to understand their pain points and design solutions that meet their needs. Additionally, you will work closely with internal product and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into actionable capabilities within Scale's offerings. A solid understanding of public sector mission sets and strategic objectives will be essential for effectively showcasing Scale's products to potential clients.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert on the end-to-ends of Scale Products
  • Create tailored demonstrations and collateral for federal stakeholders at both the executive and analyst level
  • Partner with Scale Account Executives to deliver customer pilots according to requirements agreed by the customer
  • Integrate and ingest a variety of external datasets to solve government use cases
  • Interact with customers on a day-to-day basis to understand their pain points and design solutions
  • Work with internal product and engineering teams to turn customer requirements into Scale capabilities
  • Understand public sector mission sets and strategic objectives to better showcase Scale's products

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, mathematics, or other quantitative fields
  • Strong communication skills - ability to interact with both technical and non-technical customers at all levels
  • At ease with technology, able to quickly pick up new tech stacks and troubleshoot
  • Previous experience working with Public Sector customers (Federal Civilian, State and Local Government, Education, Non-profits, etc.)
  • A strong desire to roll up your sleeves and help build a business in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time

Nice-to-haves

  • Active US Government Security Clearance
  • Based in the Washington, DC area or willing to relocate
  • Background working in AI/ML, particularly Generative AI and Large Language Models
