About the position

As a Solutions Engineer in the Sales division focusing on State, Local Government, and Education (SLED), you will be part of a dedicated team transforming how customers educate, protect, and serve. This role involves aligning Cisco solutions with business outcomes and showcasing Cisco's extensive technology portfolio to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Managers in a pre-sales technical role to showcase Cisco solutions.
  • Explain features and benefits of Cisco products to customers.
  • Design solutions and configure products tailored to customer requirements.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in networking, telecommunications, and datacenter industries.
  • In-depth knowledge in at least one specialty area: Data Center, Collaboration, Security, Route/Switch/Wireless, or Programmability.
  • Proven expertise in relevant solution sets, product line specifications, performance criteria, and applications.
  • CCIE or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • Basic understanding of programmability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess challenges and determine effective courses of action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening and presentation abilities.
  • Passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience and embracing new technologies.
  • Background in sales engineering or equivalent roles.
  • Cisco DEVNET or scripting/programming experience.
