About the position

National Instruments Corporation is seeking a Solutions Engineer for its offices in Austin, TX. The Solutions Engineer will play a critical role in identifying customer needs and providing estimates for integrated system solutions. This position requires interaction with customers, NI staff, external partners, and suppliers to support the design, implementation, and sustainability of custom test solutions. The engineer will prepare high-level collaborative designs of integrated solutions and manage the development team, ensuring adherence to development processes and best practices. In this role, the Solutions Engineer will review work quality and provide mentorship to other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. The engineer will also be responsible for designing and developing software frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple projects. Collaboration with Project Managers is essential to find optimal technical solutions to project challenges, and the engineer will be accountable for all technical deliverables associated with their projects. This position offers the potential for telecommuting, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. Candidates must be prepared to pass a technical interview as part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

  • Identify customer needs and provide estimates for integrated system solutions.
  • Interact with customers, NI staff, external partners, and external suppliers to support the design, implementation, and sustainability of custom test solutions.
  • Prepare high-level collaborative designs of integrated solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of experience in software development and system integration and/or test and measurements industry.
