About the position

We are looking for an experienced technologist for the Cisco Solutions Engineer role, covering US Commercial customers in the Bay Area. This position encompasses a wide range of verticals and the full scope of Cisco's technology portfolio. As the technical lead on the portfolio team, you will be responsible for managing 20 to 40 named accounts. You will work closely with 1 or 2 Account Managers, collaborating to drive strategic outcomes for your assigned accounts. While you will represent the entire Cisco portfolio, you will also be aligned with technical specialists in each area to ensure comprehensive support for your customers. This is a highly motivated team with a proven track record of success and a strong culture of support and fun. As a member of this team, you will be expected to act as a trusted advisor, influencing businesses in a key market for Cisco. You will leverage Cisco's extensive portfolio to address customer business challenges and serve as a technical consultant, helping customers envision solutions that go beyond the status quo and drive positive business outcomes. Your role will involve delivering technical presentations and demonstrations of Cisco solutions, collaborating with customers to develop Architecture Roadmaps that will shape their long-term direction, and partnering with your Account Manager and Specialists to achieve customer success. Continuous learning is a key aspect of this role, as you will be expected to stay updated on new technologies and continuously build your skillset. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecting solutions that resolve real-world business problems, a competitive spirit, and a willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 50% of the time. Strong presentation skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for 20 - 40 named accounts.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to drive strategic outcomes for assigned accounts.
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of Cisco solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, influencing their business decisions.
  • Develop Architecture Roadmaps in collaboration with customers to guide their long-term technology direction.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and enhance personal skillset.
  • Work closely with technical specialists to provide comprehensive support for customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree/experience.
  • 2+ years of presales experience in relevant technologies or 5+ years in the industry with deep technical expertise.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more key technical pillars: Enterprise Networks, Data Center & Cloud, Collaboration, and Security.
  • CCNP certification desired.
  • Network Automation skills desired.
